about

This song was written by Mary Margaret O’Hara and is one of only two songs that aren't mine that we have ever brought on stage. It first came to our attention after a gig I played with Don Rooke, founder of The Henry’s, with whom Mary Margaret Sang for a good while. Lisa sang it at this little gig we did, and it came out of the mist of memory when we wondered what could follow Hippie Radio which is where this song appeared during the tour. It is Lisa's first feature vocal with the band.

lyrics

Why in the dark dear heart
Have you come see me
Why in the world won't you save me
Why in the darkness do I see so clearly
You have not gone away

I dream of mine
Not lost in sleep
I'll call you down

Why in the dark dear heart
Have you come see me
Why in the world won't you save me
Why in the darkness do I see so clearly
You have not gone away

And it won't grow cold
Like so many memories do
Though you believe in me
You've bled me too

Somewhere not someone not something to have
to worry and cry them to stay
Then, then in the darkness
We'll see so clearly
We are not going away

I dream of mine
Not lost in sleep
I'll call you down
I'll call you down
