With the exception of "The Man I Am" — which began life in the basement and was built upon in the studio— the songs on The Beggar Heart were recorded with an ensemble of bass, guitar, drums and at times piano, during a 4 day recording in April, 2006. Additional guitar, percussion, strings, vocals etc. were added over the next number of months.
The second full studio recording with rhythm section George Koller on bass and Gary Craig on drums, a larger affair altogether than its' predecessor. There are some crowd favourites here, most notably a solid recording of "Beautiful Parade". Other stand-outs include "The Devil Deals in Lies", "Never A Stranger Kiss" with Serena Ryder, and one of my personal all-time favourites, "Bittersweet".
