I am yours to do your bidding
It’s been this way since the beginning
Now my hair is grey and thinning
Do you need me anymore? I have watched the burning skies
 Through a coward’s eyes
 Ignored the battle cries
That are right outside my door. Stumbled drunk through love and joy
Far too long the mannish boy
 But I’m ready to deploy
Make me useful in a war. Make me useful, useful, You don't have to tell me what side I'm fighting for. Purify my ambition
 Sanctify my secret mission
Make me Black Ops, cut the cord
Deny that I was even in the war. Take my head out of the heavens
Take my hands and make them weapons
Hold me to the oath I swore
Make me useful in a war. Make me deaf to my own voice
I wont question any choice
Coming down from the Commodore
Make me useful in a war. Throw me in the line of fire
Make me climb the razor wire
Until my flesh is torn
Make me useful in a war. Take my fear and give it edges
Make me dance out on the ledges
Make me hungry (humble), make me poor
Make me useful in a war.

Bittersweet 03:10
Beneath the truth lies the bones Of a truth more complete And I’ll bet everything I own It’s a truth that’s bittersweet. Beneath the waves of pleasure And the tangled sheets It all comes together Still it’s all bittersweet. Here’s to the highs And here’s to the lows The human heart endures And so it goes. The thorny crown. The Judas kiss. The final prayer on the martyr’s lips. Here’s to the highs And here’s to the lows The human heart endures And so it goes.

about

Stranger days? They are.
We're sending a dispatch from the front line of a struggle undeclared.
The forces of occupation are unmoved by love letters. It's been too long for them.
So we’ve sent one over the barricade.
Spectacle, no. Testament, no. But testimony, and a steady witness to the faithless tangle of unmasked, ordinary love.
Tied to the clawfoot of the last remaining crow, we've thrown one to the winds.
This is it.

Write 'God' on a piece of paper. The strange days of belief ensue. Add an 's'. Disbelief ripples and stirs. Somewhere between is this time we're born to.
Include the God who's sure of his onlyness.
Then the pantheon is whole.
Homeless Gods believe in us. It's hard to tell if that's wise.
Gods of Chance are a good bet.
Gods of Death mean you no harm. They mean you, though.
Gods of Wild Places scare most of us back home.
That's their work. Ours is to take the hint.
Revelator Gods: Now you see. Now you don't.
Rough Gods have dirt and grief and time on their hands. With them they mutter and make our days.
This record was conjured and cast down in spring, 2020. It belongs to the young of this century. Let them decide if it belongs among them.
