Stephen's wondering about angels and demons is the first thing I ever heard from him about 10 years ago, painting my then girlfriend's bathroom and listening to a CD of his she had brought home in a bid to convince me to come to a talk he was giving in town. I declined and listened out of politeness. On the CD, he was speaking to a group of palliative care nurses and his obvious care and concern for the language he was using and the concepts he was creeping up on was engaging and inspiring. Dying Nurse is one of the earliest pieces we did together when we would appear as a duo and a live recording from Australia appears on our first recording called Nights of Grief & Mystery. We chose to include it on this recording because it contains a performance from the band that we feel brought the piece to a new level.
